Nope, Park Models Homes in Illinois are not the same as mobile homes. Park Models are classified as Recreational Vehicles (Rv’s) and must follow RV laws & regulations. In contrast, Mobile Homes are built according to HUD standards and are permanently placed in one spot after installation, but Park Models are built on a movable base.

How to level a Park Model Home: Start by using jacks to lift the home, afterwards stabilize it concrete or blocks of engineered wood while ensuring the wheels remain attached. The home will stay elevated on the tongue jack & scissor jacks. Be sure the block are installed properly & avoid leaving the home on jacks permanently. Pre-leveling the gravel or concrete pads can help reduce the need for adjustments later, resulting in a much smoother process.

For the best results, Park Model Homes should be set up on a leveled gravel or concrete pad to prevent settling and ensure long-term stability. Since these homes are permanently attached to a trailer base, they cannot be placed in a basement, pit, or on pier-and-beam foundations.
