Do I need a permit for a modern cabin in Maryland?

Yes. If you are planning a Modern Cabin House in Maryland, you will need a permit as the state requires it for all newly constructed homes. Contact your local Department of Buildings office for details on how to complete the application and permit fees. Make sure to double check with the local zoning ordinances if you need a zoning permit for where you want to install your cabin, as some places require a permit.

Ready for the Cabin Life?

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.”
